Custom Creations

My 2 most recent sales on Etsy have been custom pieces of jewelry, and it was great!  I love to make pieces designed in a personalized, unique way.  The first order I made was a set of 3 medical alert bracelets in some really great color combinations, like pink & green and purple & grey.  It's nice to know that I helped update her summer wardrobe and keep her safe as well.
The other order was a necklace that was inspired by one of the rosaries in my shop.  The necklace was made with silver linked clear crystal beads that were interspersed with various shades of blue.  I think it turned out really nicely!
This is the rosary that was the inspiration.

 Lovely shades of blue.

A finished product!!

Crystal Waters

In the June/July issue of Step by Step Wire Jewelry magazine there were directions by Lauren Reed, a wire artist, to make this amazing crystal and wire bracelet.  This is a photo from the magazine (hence the design suggestion).  I love the contrast between the black wire and the sparkly beads and the way the wires spiral and separate and then come together in the center.  This was a project I had to make!  I changed the materials though and worked with gold wire and Czech glass beads instead of Swarovski crystals.  My version of this beauty is below.

I really like it!  Of course it took me almost an entire to make it!  And like usual, once I started using this technique, I just couldn't stop!  Here are some other things I was inspired to make:
I used left over beads from the bracelet to make a lariat-style necklace.  I've never worn a necklace like this, but I have to say I really like it!

Right now, I have this on a sterling chain, but I'm considering making it lariat-style like the gold one.
And then I made this....what is it?  I have no idea!!  I thought I'd hang it from a chain, but really it just looks ridiculous!  I kind of like it anyway.  At this moment, it's decorating our kitchen table...Any ideas??

More of Lauren Reed's beautiful work can be seen on her Etsy Diadem Jewels or blog.  Thanks for the new project and inspiration!

WOW!

I was featured in a collection of items yesterday by BDezines, a fellow Etsian who sells vintage jewelry.  The collection is amazing!  I've been looking at many collections recently, but I have not seen one like this!

I love the richness of the blues and greens and the wide range of items represented- clothing, jewelry, shoes, glassware.

What do you think?

Update on the Wire Rings

As promised, the wire rings are now listed in my shop!  At this point I have the three featured in the previous post that can be viewed here:  blue onyx, amethyst, and the faceted green glass.  Like I mentioned before, I will custom make one just for you in your favorite color!  I'd like to make myself a twist ring in copper with an orange stone- either fire agate or my favorite carnelian.  I think I have a carnelian nugget that is the perfect shape and size.  I'm going to make that right now!
